Fly tying in saltwater is going in a new direction........ synthetic hairs! Synthetic hairs have replaced may natural
hair for many reasons. They are more durable, translucent, down soak up water. Slim down when they are wet
while you cast so they are easier to throw. They have great breathing action and have some sheen and iridescent
colors. They are easy to work with, and are more consistent. I like to cast, and tie, the biggest fly I can get away
with, synthetic hairs make that easier to achieve! Here are the materials I like best.
